Our verdict
GUSTARIA is the Amazon phenomenon of American mahjong: hundreds of sets a month at a price that makes 'should we try mahjong?' a $36 question. The 1.2 in melamine tiles are legitimately readable, the racks are included, and the pink print will delight exactly the buyers it is aimed at. Engraving and case quality are a clear step below Yellow Mountain — and at one-fifth the price, most starter groups will not care until they are hooked, at which point this becomes the spare set.
