Our verdict
Crisloid has made games in Providence, Rhode Island for decades, and Letra — designed by Robert Trachtenberg — is the set collectors point to when they say 'they don't make them like this anymore, except Crisloid does.' The tiles are resin, printed, and a generous 1 x 1.5 in; the full set adds cherry wood racks and a mat. It periodically sells through to a waiting list, which tells you most of what you need to know about demand at $800.
